last day at work in Van City

as coming into the cafeteria of Union Gospel Mission New Westminster, i found myself almost shaking because i had this raging fear of being slaughtered because of saying one wrong phrase. now, i have come with a different perspective to strangers, specifically the homeless. now, i have been trying to see each person that walks into UGM as maybe my brothers, who by choice have felt their calling to reach out and mainly just give their time (and food) to street kids and some just needy people. i try to imagine all those amazing people who have been gracious to them on their travels, maybe i could be that next person to assist some traveling kids on their journey.
so, today when i walked into UGM, my heart was slightly saddened with the knowledge of it being the last day to be with these people i have grown to know and love the last few days. like my buddy james, he's got a kid, bad humor and the ability to talk like Elmo. today i met david and tony (i think) who had come to UGM for their first time, we talked about their travels and how cities and civilization are bad and how it is important to read the Bible. and i was able to reassure myself of my thoughts of all of them being like my brothers when i talked to this bike about bikes and introduced him to fixed gear riding and how amazed he was. but it wasnt just tha that assured me, talking to this old indian man about his kid and instruments related them to me.
but its all been open minded and helpful.
which is all healthy

Peter - great to get a glimpse into what you've been experiencing this week. I miss you - keep listening to what the Lord is telling/teaching you. J&M are most likely going to be in the Springs about the time I arrive back on Thursday. In the meantime, have fun with Barrett and family! Love, Mom
